Had a day off work so I went to the allotment this morning. While removing some dead flowers I found this little fellow. He seemed a bit dizzy, but after an hour in the sun he took off.
What a beauty!
Later on, another beautiful butterfly came to visit for a coffee in the sun.

It's nice to see the butterflies back again after the winter. I haven't seen any here yet though.
Yes, I want as many as possible in my garden. Ive heard they are attracted by special flowers,. would you know what kind?
I planted up my small border with flowers which attract butterflies, bees and hoverflies. If you look at my posts in April or May of last year you will see a list of everything I planted. Off the top of my head, some plants which will specifically attract butterflies are buddleia, ox-eye daisy, cornflower, wallflower, thrift, honesty and primrose. Hope this helps.
