We don't have water on our allotment site, so we have to make sure that we collect plenty of rainfall in water butts.
No water at all throughout the year?
No, we have to provide our own water, but our allotment rent is cheaper than the sites which do provide water as we don't have to pay any water rates.
my god, how do you manage? do you carry buckets of water over to the allotment?
We have been known to fill empty pop bottles on occasions and take those to the allotment, but the waterbutts seem to fill up quite quickly, and our next door plot holder's house is literally at the back of his plot, so he sometimes riggs up a hosepipe from his house and lets us fill our butts from that, which is quite handy.
