Chili mania

Its minus ten degrees outside. Not much to do in the allotment these days.

But last night I went through my seed collection and realised that now would be a good time to plant the chili seeds. Then they would probably reach good size and give fruit by summer.

I have planted the following types this year:

• Hot lemon
• Bolivian Rainbow
• Habanero
• Hot banana
• Bhut jolokia
• Aji Blanco Cristal
• Chili de Arbol
• Peruvian Purple
• Jalapeno
• nameless chili bought in Beijing

I have probably planted far too many. But last year they were very much appreciated by my friends and colleagues, everyone got one or a few plants. No need to buy gifts when your off to a
dinner party, just bring a chili plant. I have had homegrown chili in my freezer all year, and I use a lot of chili in my cooking.

The chili plants will live in my bathroom a couple of months.
